About the Position
​
PFLAG National is the first and largest organization for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) people, their families, and allies. PFLAG National has 250,000+ members and supporters and nearly 400 chapters in the United States. This vast grassroots network is cultivated, resourced, and serviced by the PFLAG National staff, Board of Directors, and Regional Directors Council.
The Individual Giving Coordinator works with the Development Department and other staff to meet PFLAG National’s fundraising goals, providing support in all aspects of individual giving and database administration in PFLAG National’s development department. There is an opportunity for growth in this position for a highly motivated candidate interested in a career in nonprofit fundraising.
We are looking for someone who wants to build their skills and career in nonprofit advocacy fundraising. This is a position where you will learn new things, work with a team of experts, and make a difference while you do it!
Duties Include

Direct Mail - Coordinates researching, drafting, and proofreading copy and materials for direct-mail acquisition, appeal, and renewal membership campaigns; and works with third-party vendors to design, produce, and send direct-mail

Online Campaigns - Coordinates researching, drafting, proofreading, and fulfilling digital fundraising campaigns

Events - Helps plan, execute, and follow up with new and potential donors from signature in-person and virtual fundraising events

Gift Processing - Processes donations and accurately enters donation information immediately after receiving donations as well as drafting and sending thank you letters to donors

Database Management - Using Salesforce, pulls and creates donor reports, maintain accurate lists and follow data entry best practices to ensure up to date and accurate information

Donor Interaction - Frontline person for donor contact and management. Responds to initial phone calls, emails, letters and other modes of donor communication to ensure timely interaction with the PFLAG National team
Skills and Qualifications

Post-high school education experience
-
1+ years of work experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, or direct-mail marketing

Excellent interpersonal communication and writing skills
-
Well organized and detail-oriented with a collegial working style
-
Able to meet deadlines, manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and be flexible towards changing priorities

Comfortable working with remote employees
-
Comfortable answering the phone and communicating with donors
-
Knowledge of donor/CRM databases
-
Solid computer experience, including use of the internet, Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and Zoom
-
Experience with Salesforce and/or Salsa Engage Labs is a plus
-
Flexibility to travel, work evenings and weekends as needed, but rarely
